Useful sites.......Latest news........What's New On The Energy Front The Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme White Paper has been released. Australia’s Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has announced an emissions reduction target of 5-15% in 2020 compared to 2000 levels. This is a lot lower than the expected target and even though this will effect the overall increases of electricity in a positive way for consumers, increases nevertheless should still be expected. Longer term contracts should be available in early 2009 once the energy retailers have factored in the results of the paper. On a less positive note The Queensland Competition Authority (QCA) has released it’s draft decision to increase the maximum charge for tariff electricity by 13.6 per cent from July 1 2009. Even for a small club on Tariff this will represent significant increases in spending so now would be a good time to look at reviewing you clubs electricity usage and maybe finding savings by going to an electricity contract. If you are interested in any of the above and would like a free review of you energy usage please send a copy of both sides of a recent energy bill to Energy Action and we will have our experts review your bill for you. If there is savings to be made or a new contract to be negotiated and you engage Energy Action’s services the club will receive a free case of wine courtesy of Club Partners.
